Archie's girlfriends are Betty and Veronica. His chief rival for their affections is Reggie, who started out as an oily
spoiled heir with slicked-back black hair. Reggie may be better-looking than ol' freckle-face, but in general the girls only
have eyes for Archie. Archie's best pal Jughead started out hating women, but on occasion has been depicted as a “lover
boy,” generally due to a hit on the head or something along those lines.
