Mad Magazine and its imitators often examined the battle of the sexes and boy meets girl relationships in comical fashion. They also spoofed teen heroes, private eyes, and supermen on a regular basis. Along with Mad there was Sick, Crazy, and a host of similar publications. Our visual theme was often employed. Before the magazines, there were humor comic books as well.
